Our mission

Decarbonising premium operations,
action after action.

ETYC is a Monaco startup founded in 2019 and incubated at MonacoTech. We started on board superyachts because the operational stakes there are highest. The same method now serves hotels, corporate sites and premium event operators.

Born in yachting. Now operating where sustainability happens every day.

Our story

Born on board. Structured ashore.

Claire entered the Startup Weekend in 2019 alone, met her co-founders there, and made it to the final. Six years and one Cambridge certification later, the platform went live. We took our time — because the method had to be right before the code.

2026

Official launch of platform.etyc.fr

January 2026 — official go-live of the ETYC platform. Action guidance, validated partner solutions, automated impact and compliance reporting for yachts, fleets and premium operators.

2024

Phase 2 · Digital platform development

Technological turn: intensive development of the ETYC digital platform. The methodology becomes a structured product, ready to scale across verticals.

2023

Best Sustainable Superyacht Business

ETYC wins the 2023 Superyacht Business Awards — voted by the captains, chief stews, chief engineers and crew. The only industry award decided by the people on board every day.

2023

Incubation at MonacoTech · etyc-pages.com

ETYC is incubated at MonacoTech — four years after the Startup Weekend final. Launch of etyc-pages.com, a directory of low-impact suppliers for crews.

2022

Cambridge Business Sustainability Management

Claire earns her Business Sustainability Management certification at the University of Cambridge (CISL) — academic anchoring of an on-the-ground practice.

2019–23

Phase 1 · Awareness and training

Sustainability training programmes and a validated suppliers directory. The methodology is calibrated on operational reality, not on a theoretical framework.

2019

Startup Weekend MonacoTech · Finalists

Claire enters the competition alone, meets her team there. The project — future ETYC — is named finalist of the Startup Weekend MonacoTech 2019.

The team

An operational team.

A founder who spent eight years as Chief Stew, an advisor who spent ten as Chief Engineer on 65-115m yachts, a CTO who shipped the product. ETYC is run by people who lived the problem before they wrote the answer.

Claire Ferandier-Sicard

Founder & CEO

Claire Ferandier-Sicard

Claire spent eight years as Chief Stewardess on superyachts before building the methodology ETYC runs on. ISO 14001 trained and certified in Business Sustainability Management at the University of Cambridge (CISL, 2022). She took ETYC from Startup Weekend MonacoTech finalist in 2019 to the platform launch in 2026, and led the team that won the 2023 Acrew Best Sustainable Superyacht Business award — voted by captains and crew.

Matthieu Falce

CTO & Business Partner

Matthieu Falce

Matthieu joined ETYC as CTO to build the digital platform that turns the methodology into a product. He leads the technology choices, the engineering roadmap and the data foundations that make every action traceable, measurable and audit-ready. His role: ship a platform that stays useful to crews and credible to auditors.

Andrew Gerrard

Chief Engineer Advisor

Andrew Gerrard

Andrew started as an Engineering Cadet on cruise ships before moving to yachts in 2014, climbing to Chief Engineer on 65-115m vessels. Over 16 years of technical experience on board. He ran one of the first HVO trials on an 80m+ superyacht and spoke on the alternative fuels panel at Yacht Club de Monaco. ETYC certified since June 2023.

Our values

Measurable. Adapted. Independent. Local.

01

Measurable

No vague promise. Baseline, current, target. Every completed action earns points verified by our team. Evidence-based, anti-greenwashing by design.

02

Adapted

A methodology born on board, calibrated on operational reality. Not a theoretical grid parachuted from an ESG consultancy.

03

Independent

No commission on sales generated via ETYC Partners. No strategic investor with a sector conflict of interest.

04

Local

Anchored in Monaco — MonacoTech, Mission for the Energy Transition, Ports de Monaco. Global hub of yachting, an ecosystem committed to maritime sustainability.
